Touchdown Alabama is a magazine and online news outlet for all things Alabama football. They sought to shift their brand from their previous magazine based business model into a more digital media focus.
After talking with Touchdown Alabama, I suggested we simplify their large wordmark logo to something that would better serve the brand as a both the primary identity for the growing digital side of the company as well the new social media icon and new while also not abandoning the roots of the initial wordmark.
I started the TDA logo redesign by finding elements from the previous logo that they wanted to keep. I decided to save the typeface in use but instead italicizing to indicated the speed with which Touchdown Alabama provides its readers with coverage of all things Alabama Football.
